Last round of 21 Day Fix!

When I look back at my before pictures before each of my rounds, I realize that I thought I was looking good, and although I still think I was I then look at my after photo and realize WOW, I didn't know I could get better, but I do!

I get so excited on after photo days because I know how hard I worked and how much work I put into getting into my after photos.  This round was a little different... It started off with this before photo
I then did 10 days of 21 day fix with no issues, I started to feel some pain in my knee and then fluid started to build up.... From that point I ended up going to ER and they removed the fluid and told me to stay off of my leg until the swelling went down.  I left the Hospital with CRUTCHES!! I was really mad and defeated because I really did want to finish my 11 days that I had left but with doctors orders I stayed off of my knee.  I did end up doing two Upper Fix workouts as I was having withdrawals and was really impressed with how my arms were looking and did not want to loose that. From there I decided to still take my after photos as I stayed pretty good on point with my eating and regularly did 10 Minute Abs. Here were my after photos;


See!! Mighty impressed with 10 days in and then having to sit on my butt and wait for my knee to heel! I was very happy with my results and so impressed with 21 day fix.  It has changed more than my life and I get to see it change others everyday!!

Workout Gear

I LOVE getting new workout gear.  I always feel like when I get new gear, I workout better (Weird and totally not true, I know) but it's still fun to add pieces to a collection of sweaty gear!:) I received mine in the mail today that I ordered off of Etsy. I ordered from sunsetsigndesigns and they were great! Fast and exactly what I wanted.  How often do you buy new workout gear? Every time you go down a size, when it's on sale, whenever?  I tend to buy new workout gear when I feel my best that way when I put it on, I will then go workout.  I guess that is probably the point of it!

Go get yourself a new workout shirt, it might make you workout harder!:)

Side meal recipe

Are you bored of rice or salad or those bagged side meals? Here is the perfect, healthy solution! These sweet potato bites are amazing. They are so good with cinnamon and a little
Honey on top and make for a perfect treat at supper time! Mix up your salad for a different veggie to change up your meals. If you eat to much of the same thing you tend to get bored and that is when you start to revert back to poor choices!

Meal Prep!!

I wanted to post about Meal Prep, I do get a lot of questions about it so I thought I would air it all out!  With my shakes, as stated before I do 1 scoop Strawberry Shakeology, 1 purple container of fruit, 1/4 cup yogurt and about 1/2 cup water for my smoothies every morning.  To make it EASIER on myself, I buy my fruit frozen and package it in Ziploc bags when I get it home.  It makes it so much easier in the morning trying to get the kids ready and lunches made, etc to just grab a bag and throw it in the blender!!

Here is my prepackaged bags- 1 Green Container of Spinach mixed with some carrots (a friend told me to put carrots in to hide them from my kiddies, smart woman!), 1 Purple container of fruit (strawberries, peaches and mangos).  All of this in the bag so in the morning I just plop it into the blender with yogurt, Shakeology and Water and we are good to go!

Tips #2

I also pre package my frozen veggies.  I do this because on Monday and Tuesdays, it is very busy in our house.  We have swimming on Mondays and Gymnastics on Tuesday nights so getting home from work and out the door is not the easiest! On those days, I have started to pre package and freeze slow cooker meals as well as 4 servings of veggies so I can pop them into the steamer when we get home and voila it is done in minutes! It's the perfect solution to busy people trying to keep your meals healthy and easy all at the same time! Take a Sunday afternoon to prepare and your week will be peeeerfect! I have attached a link to the slow cooker meals I have found.  I was finally able to find recipes that were decent for you (actually pretty good for you) that were not full of fatty foods, or sodium and the ones we tried were delicious! I hope you enjoy them too!

Here are my veggies that I took I bought tonight and pre packages, I use the Green container so I know how many servings are in each! I also buy frozen cauliflower, carrots and broccoli mixture which is a hit around here!

On the nights that we don't have something going on we will have fresh veggies, but steamed veggies have to be the best!! MMM MMM

Day 1-3 (well sort of) of 3 Day refresh

So, I told you guys I would write about the 3 day refresh so here it goes!

I was super excited to get started as I was doing my last round of 21 Day Fix before I start a new program.  I was ready to go through this refresh but I KNEW that my body is kind of wonky and although it is supposed to react one way, it does another so I knew going in that things might be different for me.

Before I started I took some measurements
Stomach- 34 1/2 inches
Butt- 38 Inches
Hips- 35 Inches

I am pretty happy with these before measurements and I wasn't exactly doing the refresh to "loose weight", I was doing it because I knew it was good for me and I read a lot about it and thought why not try it out!

Day 1

In the morning I drank my glass of water that it told me to drink, I then had my Shakeology on the way to work with no yogurt (like I usually have it) and that was all great.  At about 11:00 am I drank the Fibre Sweep, the first couple drinks were not that bad, pretty lemony and delicious, but then it got to the bottom and that was pretty bad!!! I then realized that I put too much water into the Fiber Sweep ( I put 16 ounces in), so by the time I hit the bottom it wasn't lemony anymore. So REMEMBER to put 8 ounces and mix really well!

For lunch I had my 1 serving of fruit (grapes) and my 1 serving of veggies (carrots) and I was actually pretty full from that and my Shakeology in the am. After lunch I continued with it and had my Vanilla fresh, I used 12 ounces of water and if I was being honest, I had to plug my nose I was so grossed out I could not handle it!!

Afternoon, I ate my fruit which was an apple and for supper I ate a strawberry almond salad (in the book) and had my yummy (NOT) Vanilla Fresh drink.

Day 1 I was feeling okay, I wasn't hungry, I wasn't bloated, I felt just good!

Day 2 was a different story, I woke up did the same thing over again and by the time lunch came around I was literally starving.  Also on Day 2 I had a serious headache and my stomach was really hurting.  I did read beforehand  that these things could happen, but it was a pretty intense headache.

So, sadly on day 2 at lunch I decided to have some soup. I can't really say that I enjoyed the 1 1/2 days I took part in the 3 day refresh but I can say that my results from those 1 1/2 days were pretty sweet and I do have to say for only doing half of it, I do feel well.  My stomach feels different, my bloating has gone down (and this has gone down substantially since starting Shakeology).  So, this post is not to steer you away from the 3 Day Refresh but just let you know how it was for ME.

I wouldn't do it again only because I couldn't handle the drinks and my horrible headache, but not everyone is the same !:)

So there you have it.. oh yes, I almost forgot my after measurements;

Stomach- 33 inches (down 11/2 inches)
Butt- 37 (down 1 inch)
Hips- 34 (down 1 inch)

3 Day Refresh- A daily look into what the 3 day refesh is

Over the next 3 days (starting tomorrow), I will be starting my first ever 3 day refresh.  The refresh is supposed to cleanse your body, while still eating to help you get back into eating well and back into routine.  I have kind of fallen off the wagon (confession time, I have been busy ( no excuse) and need to get back in it so I decided why not now, start over with a clean refresh
and get back on track! I start my LAST round of 21 Day Fix on Thursday
and then I will move on to a new program. I will be walking you through
what affects 3 day refresh has given me each day and what I chose for my

A full day of 21 Day Fix Meals with Tupperware!


 This blog post I am going to show you a day in the life of 21 day fix containers.

Breakfast- Oatmeal, almond milk and an apple
            








 - Yellow (Oatmeal) with about 1/4 of the yellow for the milk
 - Purple (Apple)





Morning Snack- Shakeology with Spinach/Strawberries/Mango, water and greek yogurt







 -1 Green ( Spinach- Frozen)
- 1 Purple ( Strawberries/Mangos- Frozen)
- 2 Red (Shakeology Scoop/Greek Yogurt)



Lunch- Salad with Egg/Veggies and Dressing

- 2 Green (Salad/Veggies)
- 1 Red (1 of my eggs didn't turn out so I had to just use one which would be 1/2 red)
  - 1 Orange ( Balsamic Vinaigarette- 21 Day Fix Eating Plan)

Afternoon Snack- Apple with Caramel 2% yogurt

- 1 Red (Yogurt)
- 1 Purple (Apple)
 




Supper- Chicken Salsa Fajitas

- 1 Green (Lettuce)
- 1 Red (Salsa Chicken- done in crock pot)
- 1 Yellow ( Tortilla)
- 1 Blue (Cheese)












Every meal I had today was delicious!! I usually always go one over in my Green one but because it's vegetables, I don't mind! I hope this helps you in your choices for the day!!

Multi-tasking to work out!

Today I am going to talk about multi-tasking... as a mom of two, I have to. I don't have a choice. Honestly, I LOVE to multi-task, so this week was a great way to do it. It was my daughters 5th birthday so I had to make cupcakes, get her goodie bags all ready and workout.. I didn't workout until 11 pm that night as other things had to come first for that night.  But it had to be done, I always feel GREAT after a workout and I knew if I got it done, I would feel even better.  So.. when you think you can't do it, when you think you are too busy just remember that you matter and that you need to be you and do what YOU want.  As I grow as a mom, I realize that I am a much happier mom when I am being me and staying true to myself and that involves me getting a workout in.  I have never compromised the time I spend with my family as I usually workout early morning or after the kids go to bed but I feel better about myself and in turn my kids see that! Multi-task, this should be the first thing when describing a mom :)

Shakeology recipes

Can't think of a new recipe for your Shakeology, or have a some unused Shakeology you would like to use up?  I have a few recipes to share you!
Both of these are found on the Shakeology website at http://www.shakeology.com/

First; Shakeology Berry Sorbet

1 Scoop Strawberry Shakeology
1 Cup Froze Mixed Berries
1/2 Cup unsweetened almond milk

Place berries, Shakeology and almond milk in a blender or food processor; cover, blend until smooth.  Place in bowl; cover.  Freeze for 2 hours, mixing with a fork every 30 minutes to break ice crystals.  Scoop evenly into tow individual bowls and serve.

YUM. I tried this today and it was delicious, just like eating ice cream!:)

Second; Chocolate Shakeology Pudding

1 2/2 scoops Chocolate Shakeology
1 Ripe Medium Avocado
1 Medium Banana, cut into chunks
1 Cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tsp fresh lemon juice

Place Shakeology, Avocado, bana, almond milk and lemon juice in a blender; cover.  Blend until smooth9If too thick add additional almond milk).  Pour into four dessert cups; refrigerate for at least an hour. Enjoy!!

The importance of Before and After photos

You were probably just like me, scared as heck to take your before photo.  Knowing you didn't need to show anyone but still scared to see it on the camera. Well, I am glad you I did because wow can I see the process that I have taken and the end results!! I have been doing 21 day fix since February on and off. I did 1 full round back in February and have just started my full second round.  In between I was doing about 4 workouts a week while training for a Tough Mudder. I looked at myself in the mirror last night while taking the bottom two photos and realized how happy I was with my change. Those shorts that I wore back in February cut off the circulation to my legs they were tight on me, now they feel like they are falling off of me. I can not wait to finish up my round of 21 day and then start on PIYO. I could scream with excitement... AAAH!!!

PLANK DAY!

Plank day!! With 21 day fix that feels like everyday. That's in arm day, that's in pilates day and that is in a cardio day! So plank day should be plank 21 day! But, I have to say I love plank. With plank I feel like I am working every inch of my body in one exercise and more is always better!:) How many minutes can you do a plank? In 21 day fix everything is 60 seconds, so you got this!  Another reason I love 21 day fix is the workouts you do, WORK. Every single one of them. I love this program, I love that this program is on sale and I love how many people it is helping!!!

Never let fear control what you do. If you have a fear of failure, get past it, you are more capable of doing what you need to do then what you think. Take advantage of that!

Total body cardio- 21 day fix!!!

These three words are some of my favourite words! Total body cardio, it kicks your butt and you don't even know it! I am back on my 2nd full 21 day fix routine. Starting at 5:15am,  I wake up, throw in my DVD for 30 minutes, shower, get ready for the day all before 6:30 and before my kids wake up!! I love this routine and I am hoping now that it is starting to get cold and dark, this routine will stick. Start early so by winter it will already be in my mind set! Total cardio fix is probably my favourite cardio day of the program! It's a great way to start out a program and Autumn makes you keep pushing!

Once a tough Mudder always a Tough Mudder

Well, I have finally done it! I ran my first ever Tough Mudder all due to getting fit with Beachbody products 6 months ago!! It was a great, great time.  Challenging, fun, exciting and most of all a darn good work out! 16.5 km (10 miles) of Drumheller terrain (hills, rocks, slopes) with 12 obstacles including Arctic Enema (jumping into an ice filled pit) to climbing a large will with Balls to the Walls.

When you put your mind to it, you can do anything!!

Effectiveness of 21 Day Fix!

I am often asked what type of things go into the 21 day fix containers... so I have decided to show you! 21 day fix is so effective because it is NOT a diet and it is NOT a short term plan, it is a lifestyle change.  It sets you up to succeed in the long run NOT just in the 21 days! I still to this day use my containers on a regular basis and I started 21 day fix back in February!  These containers have become part of my life, part of how I make my lunch, how I think about my dinner, etc.


Here is a snack that I have on a regular basis, grapes in my purple container and greek yogurt in my red container.  Sometimes I substitute grapes with strawberries, melon or peaches. This keeps me moving in the afternoon and is sooo soo good! And I have already gone through 2 containers!



My thoughts on 21 day fix is it's an AMAZING, AMAZING program.  It helps you get into shape, keeps you in shape and changes the way you look at excersise.  I have two VERY active children that I love to spend time with, if I can find time for 30 minutes a day, so can you!!




Here is a photo of some of what can go into the green container or also known as the veggie container, there are endless possibilities.  The one thing I tell people when they ask about the "meal plan" is there really isnt one! There are not certain things you can only eat all together, if it fits in the tupperware and its on the list, you are good to go! Easy as that!

21 Day Fix!!!

 This program well pretty much saved me from myself!! I hated my body, which meant I wasn't too keen on myself as a whole.  My second child did not want to sleep at all and I was exhausted but I was sick of feeling crappy and not feeling like myself. So, I signed up to do 21 day fix with a Beachbody Coach and it was the greatest day of my life. 3 weeks later and I was ALMOST at my goal weight, I still had a bit to go so I decided to do another 21 days... loved every minute of it. I still incorporate it into my daily workout regime. Tough Mudder Training!

Last night, we took both of our kids and our dog and went for a run. Needless to say it went actually pretty well. Our daughter rode her bike, my son rode in his stroller and the three of us ran.  We went about 3 miles, in that 3 miles we only had to stop twice because my daugther fell off her bike and the second because I almost ran our pup over when he stepped in front of me.  You just do what you need to do when you are training or working towards a goal.  Right now, my husband and I are training for our first Tough Mudder together! My husband did a Tough Mudder back in June, but for me it will be my first.

I find that doing 21 day Fix and PIYO has helped me excel in my preperation in strength and flexibility.  I feel like my biking to and from work has helped in my cardio.  I realized yesterday on my ride into work that my asthma get's WAY worse on the cold, which I just realized because I just found out I have asthma! Who knew! Being able to cross that finish line at Tough Mudder will be a great experience to share with my hubs and will make my even more excited to come home and finish 21 day fx!!

Huge Accomplishments





Today, I received a letter in the mail from the head of Beachbody Carl Deikeler because I recently became an Emerald Coach as an Independent Coach with Beachbody.  This, to me was a major, major accomplishment. It means my hard work, determination and  perseverance have paid off.  I plan to continue to help people get healthy and reach their goals, but I needed to make note that this is my first step. A step up!

After 1 month of being a true Coach, helping people get health, helping people reach the goals that they want to reach I have made a big step.  It's always good to look at yourself and realize that you can be proud of yourself, no matter what.  I was proud of myself when I reached my goal weight doing 21 day fix and I am not proud of myself as a business woman.

If you are interested in sharing the crazy road I have been on with me, let me know.  I am looking for coaches to join my team, to help those that are wanting and needing help through nutrition and fitness!

Dessert---- Peaches on the BBQ... MMM MMM

This dessert is actually one that I had while at my cousins house telling her all the great things about being a coach!  Her and her husband made these and I just about died, I had to have 3!!!! They are super good and pretty good for you, so this credit goes to my cousin, Jackie.

They are Peaches on the BBQ with cinnamon and brown sugar.

 Start out by cutting your peaches and half like so... You will need at least 1 Peach for every person ( I usually make two per person at home as they are eaten pretty fast!)
Place them on the BBQ on low temperature and flip about 7 minutes in.  When you have flipped them back on their  front side, add a little bit of brown sugar and cinnamon to each one and let them cook until the brown sugar is all melted in (about 5 minutes)  Last nights peaches I did not put Brown Sugar on to make them a little healthier and they were just as good!!

After the Brown Sugar has melted they will look like this, take them off the BBQ and serve while still warm.. Serve with Ice Cream (of course not soo healthy), Frozen Yogurt (little healthier) or eat as they are (healthy!)

The Dreaded Before and After Photos

Those dreaded photos that no one ever likes to take... UNTIL you get that rockin' body that you have always wanted on your after photo shots and all you want to do is find a reason to post a photo of yourself in a bikini... yes, I am talking about those photos. I remember back in February when I was asked to take before photos of myself and I remember my coach telling me that I was going to be so impressed when my after photos were taken and the before photos would just be a mere blur in my mind... Did I believe her? No, I didn't, but I did them anyway and sent them her way.  But... 21 days later I took those after photos, I actually got my husband to do them instead of me hiding in my room with a makeshift camera to take them.  I was so happy, impressed, proud and felt better than ever in my after photos. I was so excited to share them with my coach and now, I am actually sharing them with others, and it feels good to be able to do that. So.. here are my before and after.

Before, at my Grandpa's cabin last year about the same time dreading getting into a bathing suit but having to anyway to play with my kids.  I was so unhappy with my body and extremely tired, all I wanted to do was crawl in a little hole.  I know I had just had a baby 5 months prior, but I still was not happy with the way I looked and percieved myself. 

After, today as my husband walked in the door I asked him to take a photo of me in my life now.  My happy, healthy, energetic and not so tiring after photo.  Although my 1 year still doesn't sleep, I am still able to stay energetic, motivated and ready for my day.  I thank Shakeology for that one and I thank Autumn at 21 Day Fix for making me get my butt out of bed so I can take after photos I am proud of!

I may not be at exactly what I picture myself, but I am darn close ands happy about where I am!
So go ahead and take those dreaded before photos, but make sure you remember that those after photos are the ones that are more important.  Where you will be when you are happy, healthy and changing your life is the more important photo!

I love anything chocolate but I also love sugar, which for the most part is the problem for alot of people.  Now that I am using Shakeology, I don't get the crazy cravings that I used to, but I do still enjoy my sugar and chocolate in moderation.  Instead of making a cupcake, or a brownie this past weekend, I decided to make this bread that I found on my pinterest site.  Buttermilk Banana Blueberry Bread.... it is unbelievable, so declicious, so moist.. and it's what makes it great is that it's pretty good for you.  I cut the sugar in half but other than that, the bananas makes up most of it and throw in some blueberries and you've got a delicious bread to have on the go! It is important to make sure you have weeks where you are not only focusing on eating healthy, of cousre this is great but you can get burned out of always finding something healthy.  Throwing in something a little unhealthy that is a decent size, isn't going to hate anything and knowing your body helps.  What I have learnt is to make sure at least once a week I have a meal that is not necessarily on my "healthy" list. Then you do not feel tempted everyday to get in an unhealthy snack.  Make sure you do whatever works for you without feeling guilty!!  I hope you enjoy the recipe as much my family and I did!

I think I was made to do this

As I reflect over the last month of actively becoming a coach, I have realized how inspiring and wonderful of a feeling it has been.  Over this last month, I have gone on a couple vacations, had a  bike accident that left me in no shape to work out for 10 days and on bed rest.  All of this along with trying to figure out different ways to reach out to people and make sure they know that they deserve to feel their best, always!

I received a phone call from a great friend in another Province yesterday and she told me that because of me, she was getting healthy again and what really resinated with me is that she said " I am starting to love my body again".  That to me is HUGE! Especially to women that have gone through a pregnancies, child birth and the 6 months of trying to recover afterwards, I can relate.  You start to feel down in the dumps, your body is no where close to what it was before and now you have a child to look after and don't have the time for yourself like you once did.  After my first child, my husband and I did P90X, I was able to do it up until I had to go in for emergency surgery to get my appendix out, after that I stopped. I am not sure why, but I did.  A year later I decided to start riding my bike to work, which helped me stay on track and enjoy the body I was in.  We then decided to have another child and once again ballooned up.  Our second child wasn't as nice to me as our first, he rarely slept at night and during the day would have a couple 40 minute naps, leaving me pulling my hair out!  But at about 9 months, things changed, he changed and so I decided to change.  I took the plunge and bought 21 day fix.  I got back into shape in 21 days, I felt amazing.  The Shakeology was doing exactly what I was told it was going to do, make me feel better, make me less hungry, less cravings and the big kicker, give me more energy!

I decided to sign up to be a coach in March only to get a discount on my Shakeology and products.. but this last month I saw something over the months before inside of me that I knew I had to just roll with.  That was, that I became extremely passionate about trying to stay fit, live a healthy lifestyle with my family and hopefully along the way help someone out.  So, the phone call I received yesterday just got me so excited, excited for her and excited for me.  Excited for her because she is on her way to feeling good about herself again and see all the things that myself and others see about her and excited for me because I felt that I might have changed her life right there, just by having a simple conversation about a program that I feel so passionate about!

PIYO kicks your butt!

My attempt at doing a PIYO excercise and taking a seflie... epic fail but that is just what Chalene does to you!! As previously stated, I started with 21 day fix, an amazing amazing program with unbelievable results!! But now PIYO is my new baby, it takes it to the next level, makes you work even harder.  All you have is your body, no equipment.  This program takes pilates and yoga and puts them into one thing, you sweat, you cry and you get it done!!

If you are looking for a change in your lifestyle, you are feeling down and out or you want to look for a new program to mix it up a little, This is what I am hear for. To help you get what you wat out of a program and to help you on your journey to becoming a new you!

Getting to know me

Hey! I am Morgan Carver a mother of two, full time business woman and Independant Beachbody Coach.  I recently got involved in coaching earlier this year when I bought 21 Day Fix and Shakeology... This changed my life.  I lost my baby weight from baby two and I started to feel so much better. Better about myself, about my goals and about where I was headed.  I contribute feeling good internally to Shakeology.  You always hear it is the most important meal of the day, and at first I was a skeptic but it truly is!!! It has changed my eating habits, my digestive system, energy level all by tasting delicious! With that being said, these two products have made me the person I am today.  I am now able to ride my bike to work everyday, play with my kids when I get home instead of sitting on the couch, have time for me once they go to bed and truly enjoy life to the fullest. My life is pretty crazy at the moment, running around to my kids activities, working, going to school PT and having time to spend with my husband, but thats my life and I love it!
